Sedation Dentistry in Kanata

Dental anxiety is common, and it shouldn’t prevent you from getting the dental care you need.
At Nash Dental, we offer nitrous oxide and IV sedation for appropriate patients who may benefit from additional support during dental treatment. Whether you experience dental anxiety, have difficulty getting numb, require a longer procedure, or simply feel more comfortable with sedation, we’ll discuss the options available to you.

Combined with our calm, spa-inspired environment and patient-first approach, our goal is to make your dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Sedation Options at Nash Dental

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide can help reduce anxiety while you remain awake and able to communicate. It takes effect quickly and generally wears off soon after treatment.

IV Sedation

For patients who require a deeper level of sedation, IV sedation is available on select treatment days with a qualified dentist and nurse who provide and monitor your sedation throughout your procedure. Your suitability for IV sedation will be determined through an appropriate assessment before treatment.

FAQs

Sedation Dentistry FAQs

What type of dental sedation do you offer?
Nash Dental offers both nitrous oxide and IV sedation in Kanata. The appropriate option depends on your health, level of anxiety, planned procedure, and individual needs.
Will I be awake during dental sedation?
With nitrous oxide, you remain awake and responsive. IV sedation provides a deeper level of sedation and many patients have little or no memory of the procedure, although it is not the same as general anesthesia.
Is dental sedation safe?
Sedation can be provided safely for appropriately selected patients following a review of their medical history and individual risk factors. Patients receiving IV sedation are carefully monitored throughout treatment and must follow specific pre- and post-operative instructions.
This experience looks amazing, does it cost more?
Not at all! At Nash Dental, we believe an exceptional dental experience shouldn’t come with a premium price tag. We follow the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) Fee Guide, just like most dental offices across Ontario. Our goal is simple: provide elevated care, modern technology, and an incredible patient experience without elevated fees.
